Want Info On Sexpo?
by Mickey on May.14, 2009, under Did You Know?, Hints & Tips, Interesting, Life, People, Weirdness, Wow
You’ve seen the naughty posters sprinkled all over the Mother City and wonder what it’s about? Now in its second successful tour of the country, Sexpo – a health, sexuality and lifestyle exposition – is on at the Cape Town ICC until May 17. Not sure if you should go? Health24’s Wilma Stassen and Heather Parker have the insider’s story about working at Sexpo…
From leather to lace, to things that go “brrrr-rrrr” in the night; past latex, lubricants and lingerie…. We’ve sauntered casually past things that would ordinarily make anyone stop dead in their tracks.
The ticket office is a scrum all day, every day, as people come for a peek at the exhibits at this naughty lifestyle exhibition for over 18s. Some… er… come more than once. “South Africans are becoming more comfortable with their sensuality,” said a spokesperson for the expo. “The focus is on fun as well as sexual health.”
That may be so, but when Health24 was there (at Sexpo in Gauteng), it was astonishing how many visitors even to our tame stand felt they needed to tell us they were there for business only. Of course. Because they were in the import business and were checking out merchandising opportunities. Or because they were working backstage, in charge of sports massage for the dancers. Not a soul admitted to the sheer titillation of a hall focused primarily on everyone’s favourite after-hours activity: recreational sex. (continue reading…)

by Mickey on May.08, 2009, under Laugh, People, Weirdness, Wow
Johannesburg – A 46 year-old man was arrested on Thursday in Brooklyn, Pretoria, for stealing US dollars he himself had collected, police said.
Captain Colette Weilbach said the man collected $5 000 at an FNB bank branch in Brooklyn, which he was to deliver to an RMB bank in Lynnwood Glen, Pretoria.
“He alleged that two men stole the money after forcing him to drive to Isando, east of Johannesburg at gunpoint.”
After viewing CCTV footage at the two banks, police came to the conclusion that the man had lied about the armed robbery and hijacking. The suspect faces charges of defeating the ends of justice, perjury and theft.

Top 10 Paranormal Creatures
by Mickey on Jan.25, 2009, under Useless/Useful Information, Weirdness
10) Nephilim
The Nephilim were an antediluvian race (pre-flood) race which are referred to in the Bible as giants. They were reportedly the children born from the “daughters of men”, and the “Sons of God”. It is most important to note that they are mentioned almost simultaneous to God’s statement that He would destroy the earth by flood, and it seems from this association that their affect upon mankind was one of the primary justifications that brought the destruction. Nephilim where thought to be from 8 – 30 feet.
9) Mothman
The Mothman is the name given to a being reported in the Charleston and Point Pleasant areas of West Virginia between November 12, 1966, near Clendenin, and December 1967. Most observers describe the Mothman as a winged man-sized creature with large reflective red eyes and large moth-like wings. The creature often appeared to have no head, with its eyes set into its chest. A number of hypotheses have been presented to explain eyewitness accounts, ranging from misidentification and coincidence, to paranormal phenomena and conspiracy theories.

Car Breathalyzer Mistakes Ice Cream For Alchohol…..

Car Breathalyzer Mistakes Ice Cream for Alcohol, Doesn’t Let Man Drive Home
You may want to hand your keys over after a pint of Ben and Jerry’s, because in Australia, a man’s car breathalyzer refused to start his engine after he ate an Ice Cream Bar.
UPI reports that the unidentified man, who lives in Frankston, Australia, claims he ate Bubble O’Bill ice cream, right before blowing into the breathalyzer, which caused the false positive. Afterwards he went before a court asking to have the breathalyzer removed from his car.
The court decided to verify the error with a second test. Without eating the Ice Cream, the man’s BAC was .0000. Immediately after taking two bites, it was .0018. The man got his wish, and the breathalyzer was removed. But the larger cause for concern here is what he did to get stuck with the breathalyzer in the first place? And what will he do now that he’s no longer shackled to the buzz killer?

Upside Down House

As if the right side up house is not enough to deal with, try the upside down house!
The Upside Down House is a project created by a Polish businessman and philanthropist named Daniel Czapiewski, and is located in Poland. Rather than simply being a bizarre tourist attraction this house, managed to attract thousands of tourists. The house is also meant to be a profound statement about the Communist era and the state of the world. Czapiewski’s company would normally take three weeks to construct a house, but this one took 114 days because the workers were disorientated by the strange angles of the walls. Many tourists who visit complain of mild seasickness and dizziness after just a few minutes of being in the structure.

Breaking News. Into Lots Of Little Pieces. “Inauguration Prank”

Americans call on White House to end Obama “inauguration” prank
WASHINGTON. Americans say the “election” of Barack Obama was a fine prank while it lasted, but many believe Tuesday’s inauguration will take the joke too far. “It’s really upsetting my kids,” said one voter. “I keep trying to tell them that it’s just a very clever prank by Mr Bush and Mr Cheney, but I am starting to worry that something has gone very wrong.”
As millions of people poured into Washington DC this morning and a host of A-list celebrities competed for the limelight ahead of the “inauguration”, there were still some Americans who believe that the prank was building to a climax.
“I reckon as he puts his hand on the Bible he’s going to rip off a latex face mask and it’ll be Don Rumsfeld or someone,” said Sally-Mae McLash of Texas, who has come to Washington to witness “awesome comedy”.
But tens of millions of other Americans have bombarded radio- and television stations with messages urging the White House to reveal the hoax “before it gets really embarrassing to watch”.
“Enough is enough,” said Chad Humperdinck of Klan Gulch, Virginia. “It’s been funny, and it’s been a gas to watch the 43 liberals in the US who didn’t know it was a joke getting all teary about ‘Change’, whatever the hell that is.
“But it’s over, okay?”
Asked if he had voted for Obama as part of the hoax Humperdinck admitted that he had.
“The Obama people would come around and say, ‘Hey, you know what would be awesome? If you voted for…wait for it…Barack Obama!’
“Then we’d all roll around and laugh until beer came out of our noses.
“It was such a good gag we even voted for him on Election Day.”
Aphasia Wang, a mother of three from Boston, said she had come to the inauguration to see the next president, and hoped they would unveil him after Obama had done his show.
“Yes, I think it’s a bit tacky to draw out the Obama joke this long, but I believe in Democracy and the United States, and I felt it was my civil duty to be here, to be in the crowd when Mr Bush and Mr Cheney tell us who our next President is going to be.”
